The Rulers of Earth
It’s plain to see
Are dogs and cats
Not you or me
They sit where they want
They sleep where they please
Though you chastise them
They ignore you with ease
What about baths and other grooming
You do that when time’s not consuming
How about walks
Dogs may be willing
But only if squirrels are about and milling
Let’s chase the squirrels
Let’s chase the rabbits
You clean up my business
It’s one of your habits
We work in office, factory, and field,
All our hard work, what does it yield?
A waging tail, a purr, a rub,
Not to mention undying love.
Well that’s the story
We toil and sweat
So the Rulers of Earth
A biscuit can get.
